CFH-BCd. Sarah Smith Maltby, b. Jan. 1, 1820 (DeGrasse 5, Benj.4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). m. Nov. 11, 1857, William L. Morris, b. Apr. 15, 1818; d. Nov. 8, 1863. He was of Baltimore.

Northford Rec., p.10, gives "1832. April 29, Sarah Maltby joined the Church." Ethel (Copp) Nicol, writes they had no children.

CFH-Bda. Rebecca Taintor Bronson, b. Feb. 10, 1822 (Eliz.5, Benj.4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). m. June 19, 1844, Deacon Douglas Fowler Maltby. They were first cousins. She died Aug. 8, 1845, with her child.

CFH-BFA. Douglas Fowler Maltby, b. May 7, 1820, Northford, Ct. (Julius 5, Benj.4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). m. (1) June 19, 1844, his 1st cousin, Rebecca Taintor Bronson. He m. (2) Mary A. Somers, b. Aug. 30, 1829. They were mar. Feb. 26, 1851. Northford Church Record "recommends Douglas Maltby to Yale College Church, May 30, 1841." He was admitted to the Northford church, Oct. 1837. He died at Waterbury, Conn., May 16, 1907.

Mrs. Maltby was a member of the Maltby Family Association and through letters had greatly endeared herself to the compiler. She d. May 13, 1823.

               "Douglas F. Maltby, Ex '44.

Douglas F. Maltby, ex. '44, a well known manufacturer of Waterbury, Conn. died in that city May 16. He was born in Northford, town of North Branford, Conn., May 7, 1820. He entered Yale College in 1842, but on account of ill health was compelled to give up his studies at the end of Sophomore year. In 1846 he entered the employ of the Benedict and Burnham Manufacturing Company and in 1862 he became president of Maltby, Norton and Company, button manufactures of Waterbury, whose plant was almost entirely destroyed by fire in 1865.

In 1873 he began business under the firm name of Maltby, Curtiss and Company of New York City. In this company he directed the financial and manufacturing and of the business in Waterbury. In 1885 the firm changed its name to Maltby, Henley and Company, and with the company he was connected during the remainder of his active career. For a number of years he was president of the Maltby, Curtiss and Stevens Company, a joint stock company engaged in the manufacture of silverware in Wallingford, Conn. On Feb. 26, 1851 he married Miss Mary

"Ann Somers, his second wife, who, with four children, survives him."

(About 1885, or 6, on a visit to Waterbury, we met the Waterbury Maltbys, for the first time).
